Like Minds – Like Success

As we all wrap up 2021 and plans go in the works for beginning 2022 on the right/left foot – I encourage you to set SMART goals, not resolutions. Why? Because Research shows that 80% of New Year’s resolutions fail by the beginning of February, and New Year’s resolutions seldom have actionable steps. Most resolutions are created out of peer pressure or based on an arbitrary date. However, when setting SMART goals be sure that they are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time bound. By doing so your chances for success are much better.

But wait – we are not finished with 2021, be sure to reflect on the races you ran this past year. You do this by taking note of the goals you had already set, challenges you experienced, accomplishments made, and what it took to get there. Believe me when I say half the battle is already won – you already possess half of what you need to be successful in 2022.

President Theodore Roosevelt said, “The most important single ingredient in the formula of success is knowing how to get along with people.” That leads me to believe that the other half of our success depends on who we are connected to in 2022. Here’s what that connectedness should look like.

  • Empowering relationships that embodies an intentional exchange between two individuals (work, marriage, business, etc.) helping one another to live lives of greater meaning/significance. Synergistic
  • Seek to Serve First don’t always look for what you can gain from others but focus on what you can do to help others.
  • Build Your A-Team by recognizing the contributions that others bring to your life and you to theirs. Celebrate those differences and tap into them for guidance and support.

A new year means a new chapter. That chapter is upon us and ready to be written. For you my friend, I hope that 2022 is an incredible year and an even greater part of your success-connectedness story. Ready – Set – Go!!
